While there is damage to trees, portable classrooms, and fences throughout the Ogden School District, the main school buildings are safe for school. Power has been restored to 80% of the schools, including junior high schools and Ben Lomond and Ogden High. Crews are working to bring back power to the remaining schools. At this time, it is planned that all schools will be open tomorrow (May 2.) If circumstances necessitate the closure or late start for an individual school tomorrow, parents will be contacted via phone and text and updates will be posted on Facebook and the district website.
We encourage parents to ask students to be extra safe traveling to school and avoid hazards such as debris. Please be aware to stay away from downed power lines if found.
